  1. Did not see this before now (January 2013). The real legend here was Barney Stutesman who flew our Detroit Traffic Copter. Only his helicopter is seen in the photo.

The big mystery is: Whatever happened to Danny Taylor (not his real name).?
We have all been searching for him for years. If anyone knows his name or anything of his whereabouts we would appreciate a heads up.

Danny was a great voice and talent. So great in fact that his was the voice on all the WXYZ- “Personality Plus” IDs and intros in the mid sixties.

    Regards
    Lee Alan

    1. Re Danny Taylor. I was Chief Engineer at KKJO AM in St. Joe Mo 1968 to 1972. Danny was a great guy and a wonderful and funny top 40 dj. He was still there when I left but I believe he then worked the Kansas
city market. His real name was Rick Morgan I think and he might have used it has his air name later on. Hope this helps’ Neal

      1. Thank you Mr. Neal Tenhulzen for sharing your comments with us regarding Danny Taylor on Motor City Radio Flashbacks!

      2. Neal:
I are here In KC and have been since 72’…didn’t know you would be curious? You can reach me at the E-mail site listed. Since coming here for broadcasting radio & tv I was dubbed the airname of JP Morgan(aka former Danny(Tiger)Taylor by KCMO and stuck with it ever since my
last name being Morgan. I discovered the Motor City Website by accident with a link to notice you were on there with a question about my whereabouts. Please respond and we’ll chat about
some of the old memories of K-JO days and one of my fondest of having the great pleasure of
singing with Steve Walsh(Kansas) known by then as a member of the First Class Male where they appeared at Frog Hop Ballroom on several occasions.
Sincerely…JP Morgan aka (formerly Danny Taylor of Detroit and St. Joe

    2. Lee Alan:
You have found me! I accidently stumbled onto this website out of a curious moment…you still look absolutely great as I’m sure do the others, providing they’re still around which you could update me
of that status. Returned to the Midwest St. Joseph, Mo in 1968 where I did local Radio & TV(Dance show) under the Danny name until 1972 moving to Kansas City for a better offer, etc. adopting the broadcast name of J P Morgan(inasmuch as my last name was that)and been here ever since . You were a super person to work under in Detroit and I absolutely enjoyed my tenure at WXYZ. Please respond to this message and inform me of Bruce Still, Joe Bacarello and the others if you wouldn’t mind and thank you sincerely for the gracious comments.,
Thanks again Lee & look forward to hearing from you

      1. Danny
I am astounded and grateful to have finally located you. So much to share with you. Jim has given me your email address; so will respond there. Please watch for it. Sending initial email now.
        Very Best

  2. Hi everybody…I am Rick Morgan, one of two proud sons of Danny Taylor! I think the most enjoyable conversations I have had with my Dad are those that have to do with his past experiences in his radio career. Today, my Dad shared with me the exciting news about several of his WXYZ colleagues finding one another some 50 years later. I want to applaude the people who are the catalysts for keeping the past alive! Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing more as you all catch up with one another.

    Rick Morgan..aka Lil Danny Taylor

    1. Hello Rick Morgan, Jim Feliciano, administrator here on Motor City Radio Flashbacks. Thank you for the kind email! We were justed as thrilled as Lee Alan and Jim Hampton having been finally able to connect with your father, Danny Taylor, here, on Motor City Radio Flashbacks in recent days turning the new year. Some months back last year, at the behest of lee Alan, we put an “all-points bulletin” on the website, if you will, for information regarding whereabouts about your father, if someone out there know where he can be located, etc., since Danny Taylor left the Motor City decades ago in the 1970s. So, all in all, we were all elated when he dropped in on us with his comments we posted on the website, January 5. And were happy in finding out, by his remarks, he has been doing well in St. Louis all these years! You also stated, “I want to applaud the people who are the catalysts for keeping the past alive!”, well this is what the website is all about. It’s our website homage to the GREATEST Detroit broadcast voices and deejays we’ve come to love on the radio in the Motor City. Again, thank you so much Rick for your wonderfully expressed comments regarding Danny Taylor. On the the GREATS on WXYZ radio here in Detroit in the 1960s.
