Am I the only one who remembers an animated sunkist commercial that had an alligator jump out of an orange a kid was peeling?

    • Jim Feliciano says on: January 19, 2013 at 1:44 PM

Hey Gregory, you’re not the only one who remembers this Sunkist spot. It’s on You Tube (click here): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jP09HFiRD0

One comment there in regards reads: “I asked many people about this Sunkist orange commercial. I finally found it and am no longer considering imagining seeing this as a child.” ENJOY.

Looking for a recording of a jingle/commercial that used to play in the morning on Detroit radio/tv (1980’s — I think) that goes something like…

“Wake up Detroit — it’s all brand new …” had a sort of Frank Sinatra feel to it.

    Any ideas?

Which ones feature Barry manilow? He did so many commercials.

  • Tom says on: July 28, 2013 at 8:02 PM

Do you have any of the commercials Barry Manilow did?

    Thanks,

    Tom

One of the most FAMOUS Commercial jingles–just does NOT show up on the Internet despite numerous searches–perhaps you guys have a copy? “It’s National Shoes Rings The Bell” (SFX: Bell)…any chance?

I love going back intime and listening to these. I can still hear a lot of these and so quickly the words to the jingle return.

However, I am looking for one jingle that I can’t find anywhere. Itwas a spot for Total gas stations right here in the metro detroit area. It was called “you’ve got enough to make it to Total”. It was a commercial where a guy is panicking basicly because his gas tank was low and he needed to reach the pumps and when he does the jingle starts “you did it! you made it! you feel so good (so good)! you make it to Total! You did it! You made it! You can always make it! We knew you could. You can always make it, always mae it to Total!”

Does this sound familiar to anyone out here in radio land? I have tried Google, Youtube, The Total brands website, and I even tried a few contacts with no luck.

Can anyone help, or at the very least, can someone please tell me that they remember this jingle? It seems it was played during the 80’s around the same time as an old Marathon commercial where they were advertising PBA4.

This is just fabulous. Today, my wife and I were recalling the hilarious ads for radio advertising that came out in the early 80s. I found your site, and it has 3 of them: “Lather Puss Shaving Cream,” ” The Shoe Store Across the Street,” and “Advertise on the Radio–Norman T. Balone, Assistant Janitor.”
Thanks a million for the memories and the laughs!

WOW. I just spent most of the night listening to this stuff. Thank you. Do you take requests?
OK – Holy Grail time: Do you have the custom “That’s My Wonderful Town” radio jingle – Detroit version – that was done for WCAR back in the early 60’s?
AND…Holy Grail #2: The music that Channel 7 used to intro Shock Theater back in the late 50’s?

This is an amazing site. Again – Thanks.

Hey Dave…We do take requests for songs but some of the stuff you asked for we don’t have. The my home town is the only thing we have on the site. That was made for WJBK radio.

Hello, I was just on your website and it brought back happy childhood memories. I grew up during the 1950’s-60s and remember a little jingle WIOS in Tawas, MI used to play. It was a male baritone voice singing,

“Radio, your constant companion, radio, your traveling friend/ in your home, in your pocket or car, dial a smile wherever you are/ radio, your constant companion, radio, your family friend!”

I heard it so many times that the words are burned into my memory even at age 60, as you can see! I don’t suppose you have any dusty archives that may have a recording of this jingle from the early 1960’s do you? It would be really neat to hear on your website. You could maybe get it transferred into MP3 format.

    Thanks for the memories!

Anyone else enjoy the Stroh’s commercials from the 60s and 70s? I remember one where the off-screen announcer is singing the praises of the product when this lunch-bucket everyman asks “What is this fire-brewin’ business?” Then there are the ones where Thom Sharpe is seen staggering through the desert; coming up to two guys in an oasis, who offer water, he asks instead for an ice-cold Stroh’s beer! (There goes a real beer lover)…

My mom, Ferol Kunard, sang a Crolwley’s milk jingle I think in the 50’s.
I wondered if there would be any record of it anywhrere. “crowley’s milk flavor & nutritious–crowley’s milk delivered at your door etc. etc etc.

1992 there was a radio commercial for 7-eleven coffee.
I heard it in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was a real catchy tune . Can you find a copy of it?

How about the atlas furniture commercial?

I’d love to hear, Mello yellow jack’s little darlin’ beer commercial. My mom says I sang it as a child when I was still in diapers. My grandmother said, “Bonnie, if she’s old enough to sing beer commercials, she’s old enough to use the potty!”

Can you find either County Seat jeans stores “Just direct your feet to the County Seat” or Dad’s root beer “If you don’t ask for Dad’s, all you’re gonna get is root beer”?

Hey – great page! But the “BB King” Dr. Pepper clip is actually Chuck Berry.
