ABOUT THOSE ‘GENE MEROLLIS CHEVROLET’ RADIO ADS

___

Gene Merollis Chevrolet, once located in Garden City, created in the 1960s what would become THE MOST recognized 30-second radio ads ever produced for any car dealership in the entire Detroit metropolitan area.

Gene Merollis Chevrolet, every spot ever so humorous along with their catchy phrases, “where you save a week’s pay,” and “that’s where money-saving deals begin,” those same radio advertisements played daily on Detroit radio would catapult the Garden City dealership to #1 status for 15 years.

Gene Merollis sold the most GM Chevy cars anywhere on the Detroit map from 1963 through 1978.
