  1. Hi Kevin. This is your “old” friend (and fan forever, of course) George. I had been wanting to send you an email and check in to find out how everything has been going for you but, as you know, life often gets in the way of our best intentions. I’m glad the Am/FM radio industry hasn’t squeezed you out as it has so many talented people. It’s amazing how much the biz has changed over the years. But the world has also been changing right along with it.

It’s great to hear your voice on WJR, although the station needs to give you more freedom to be you. Yesterday, when Blaine filled in for Mitch, you had a chance to break from your structured format. It was a blast, albeit brief.

I hope your family and your health are well. Please let me know what’s new with you if you have a chance.

  2. Kevin, what are you up to these days? I have lost track and want to follow you. Are you regularly on WJR? When?

  3. I never laughed so hard all the way home at your broadcast tonight. You and that Ken Brown are one great team.

I often listen to Mitch (I can never get through to talk to him though) but you are a natural.

DJ on that guys wedding was something you ought to do more often.

Oh you can pitch hit for him anytime.

Thanks for the ride home in this horrible traffic each and every day to White Lake.. You are the best.

  4. Hi Kevin,

I have a number of 45s from the 60s through the 90s. If I remember correctly from your time on the air throughout the years, you are interested in such things. If you’d like to take a look at them, they are yours for the asking.

  5. Gosh, I miss your natural witand good nature. I would like to talk to you about May 16, 2015. Walt and I will be celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary and are interested in knowing if you might be available that evening.

Walt found you on 96.3 one evening and was so excited to call and tell me the great news. Kevin, you are just the best.

    1. I still ranger at Heritage Park, and am Grandma of twin girls Would so much like to talk to you about Walt and Mine’s 50th anniversary party for scheduled for May 16, 2015. Thanks so much, Kevin.

  6. Kevin- Always enjoy listening to you on WJR. Heard you comment about “Me, the mob, and the music” by Tommy James the other day. . I really enjoyed that Book as well. I think you’d also like “Shell Shocked” by Howard Kaylan. Mitch Ryder’s “Devils & Blue Dresses” is also a good book about the music industry.

  7. I moved from Ann Arbor to Cleveland during economic downturn but kept listening to WJR.

So cool to hear a Clevelander in the D. Go Tigers and Tribe!!! Keep up the great work… and WJR, give Kevin his own slot.

    Bill

  8. Kevin. Great to see you after all these years at the ND Reunion. Glad that we are both alive. If you get to Phoenix, give me a heads up. Rob

  9. I won some tickets from Kevin when he was WOMC to see Gene Pitney & Dell Shannon in I think 1986. I would call and request songs and with Kevin’s vast knowledge of music he knew the song and would play it.

Anyway I now live in Georgie working for a news network based there and have emailed Kevin from time to time.

What a great memory of music, “Saturday Morning Confusion” shot would remember the artist and year that song came out? Kevin O’Neil.

    1. Elaine, I had no idea your e mail was here! My God it’s almost two years old! I love “Morning

Girl” It came out in 1969 by the Neon Philharmonic. God bless you for taking the time to write

and thank you so much for listening!

  12. Whatever happened to a co-worker of yours at WOMC, WCZY & maybe WNIC by the name of Lou “Yeah Baby” Roberts?

  13. Kevin:

Your musical knowledge is amazing, and I thought if anyone could answer this question, it would have to be you. Today on Mitch’s show there was mention of the old vibrating football game toy. Mitch mentioned the little fabric football used to play the game. There is a line in the Beatles song that reads, “Toe-jam football”. The little football used to play the game looks like it could be a toe-jam, and I have always wondered if one of the Beatles had that game, and decided to use the term in a song. Anything you care to pass along will be much appreciated.

    Thanks

  14. Kevin, it’s been a long time since the nooners at CZY, and the Ace the Case days. We moved back to town after being up north for 15 years, so it was wonderful to hear your voice on JR. Wish I could attach a photo of the coffee mug my wife found at a resale shop in Hartland. It’s from WKSG 102.7 KISS FM. Was that your first station in the D? And if you recall the time you helped Lakeland High Video class with their auction night. You’ve always been a caring, helpful person. I put in a good word for you to Scott Stein at WHNN when the midday slot openned up. He said the budget went with termination, but said he would to have you on board. I hope we can cross paths again some day.

  15. Kevin
How have you been? Hope you’re well glad to see your My drive time guy.
Please call or e-mail. Love to catch up

  16. WOW. I made a pledge to Mitch’s radiothon, and you absolutely nailed the pronunciation of my name. DO YOU KNOW HOW RARE THAT IS?? And it’s not that difficult! Kudo’s for not saying TheresA!!! And the Bianchi was perfect!!

I also love your musical knowledge. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE listening to you on “I love music” segment. Your vast knowledge is amazing.

Thanks again. I feel like you know me!!

    Therese (not Theresa) Bianchi (bee-ON-key)!

  17. I remember listening and talking to you briefly on WGAR AM. Last time I heard you was on WMJC. For what it’s worth there’s a station in the Mentor OH area, playing top 40 radio from the 50’s 60’s, and 70’s WQGR 93.7 FM. the website gold937fm.com. Are you on both WJR and WDVD ? Let me know when you’re on both. Hope to hear from you.
