  1. I had the pleasure of knowing & hanging with Dennis in the day; I knew Rudnick when Bob was at CJOM with the staff they fired that gave way to my hiring late summer 72. This is wonderful footage & I had to refer to when Lust For Life was released (Sept. 9/77) to get a sense as to when this was recorded…judging by the Elvis tribute (he died Aug. 18/77) it was obviously in between. Sadly Bob left us many years back, but I know Dennis is out there…love to re-connect if anyone knows his whereabouts. I guess I should ask Dan Carlylse who’s out west. So glad U posted this…no one would ever fully understand or appreciate what this sort of radio or distinctive announce delivery really meant, how truly cool it was regarded as, unless U were there. The spirit & inspiration of it lives on.

      1. Hello Lauren,
I am the creator/admin of the big WABX page on facebook.
I have befriended one of his old WABX coworker/friends, and this guy would just love to find Dennis. Lots of people have tried to track him down, but with no success. On the fb page, people ask all the time whatever happened to him. It appears he was one of the most popular at the station! Please contact me. Thanks

      2. Hi Lauren,
I’m going to be presenting a program on MWPR, Music Without Prejudice Radio, a new Internet station that will launch later this year.
I grew up in the Detroit area listening to the Air Aces and think it would be cool to do a story on ABX since MWPR is also free-form. I’m in touch with a few of the Aces and would love to talk to your dad if he’s willing.
You can find me on FB if you like.
        All the best,
        Doc

      3. Hi Lauren

Like a lot of people I knew your father in the late 60’s with Bob Rudnick. I was 17 and Bob let me crash at his loft on Ave B . I was influenced by Dennis and Bob’s conversations…..and grew up to be a theatre and performance person…Dennis probably won’t remember me at all but i am writing about that time and I would love to talk to him….my email is mspennyarcade@gmail.com

  2. Lived in Inkster 70-76 and WABX was our station. In 1977 i lived in Santa Rosa California and, to my delight and surprise, heard Frawley on the local station there. Had a brief conversation, nostalgia you know, and am thrilled to discover he is back home. I live in Florida now and will figure out how i can enjoy his unique repartee again. I send the best of wishes and hope to be listening soon in Sarasota.

  3. WABX and Dennis Frawley are one of my fondest memories of that era. Suburbanites from Lake Orion, we listened to Dennis nightly. Forty years later, my partner in crime, Dick Sheardy, then from Fla., called me in Oregon and put Dennis on the phone with me. What a hoot! The memories will hang with me for the remainder of my life.
